in a pre-printed album; Vatican City with good sets, but often
heavily hinged. Covers with some better items in two albums,

partially picked, but with interesting remainders. Austria includes
part of a cancellation collection with duplication, Spain is mainly
represented by Civil War labels, France is chiefly comprised of TAB
stamps from booklet issues with advertising tabs, including
“MAZDA”, “BYRRH” and similar. Great Britain, Germany (Soviet Zone)
and one album worldwide from various countries, the main strength
being in European countries. predominantly common material from a wide range of countries, yet
also containing a number of better values, though no major rarities
were observed. The strongest section is Germany (Deutsches Reich).
Careful inspection is strongly recommended, as this may prove a
rewarding lot for collectors interested in cancellations and
specialities. Lithuania, chiefly in used condition, housed in one stockbook. A
second stockbook contains better sets, often in multiples from the
same countries, comprising unused material (both mounted and
unmounted) as well as used examples. A third album contains
Lithuania and Memel particulaly in used condition with a focus on
surcharged Lithuanian issues. A good, worthwhile lot. 2274 image1855/1935: Fine lot - Denmark with the 10 kr. value of 1927, unused
mounted (Michel 176). Finland is represented by three classic
stamps, all used and in fine condition, 10 penni of 1866 (Mi 7Bx)
accompanied by a Witschi certificate, the 10 markkaa of 1885
(Michel 26), and the 3.50 markkaa of 1891 (Michel 46). Iceland with
6 better values of which 5 stamps used (cancels not guaranteed, Mi
€ 2'600) and the 1933 'Hopflug' issue, the complete unused set,
mounted, the 10 kr. showing a light bend; all values retain large
part original gum and are signed (Mi 172–174). Sweden comprises the
6 ö. 1855 grey in fine condition with Estoppey certificate (1957),
together with another 6 ö. and a 4 ö value, both showing minor
faults. Ireland includes the 10 shilling value of 1922 (Dollard),
unmounted, as well as the definitive set from 2'6 sc. to 10 sc. of
1935, unused but slightly unfresh, accompanied by the same set in

Intellectuals' plus additional 10 f. and 20 f. stamps, all
unmounted, several signed, some values show a lightly toned gum, Mi
= € 3250; from Sweden a complete set UPU 1924; Mi 159/173 and from
Latvia triangula airpost set from 1932, Mi 203A/205A. € = 900;

2276 1855/2000ca. Nordic countries, Finland, Norway and Sweden,
represented by quite advanced traditional collections, housed in
pre-printed albums, predominantly used, with some unused material
and, in the modern period, largely never hinged. The collections
commence with the classic issues, including several Norway No. 1,
Finland with a number of rouletted stamps, and Sweden with a
substantial range of Numeral definitives and Officials (1872–86).
Also well developed in the semi-classical period and particularly
strong in modern issues up to approximately 2'000. Much to explore
in a total of nine pre-printed albums and six stockbooks.
