DEB. / GRANDE ARMÉE" in red (Reinhardt = 1'750 DM), rated '8' décimes, reverse with arrival datestamp of "5 juillet 1807". An appealing cover with this souhjt-after strike. Note: The letter includes also a description of the battle of Friedland in eastern Prussia on 14 June 1807 which was won by Napoleon and where the writer was slightly hurt. 2119 cover image1849 (January 1): First Day Cover from Thoiry to Bellême (Orne) bearing 20 Centimes Cérès black, cancelled by the date stamp "1 JAN. 1849" (Yvert type A), also repeated at the lower left corner of the cover. The cursive cancellation from Thoiry is applied alongside to the left in black. Both the stamp and the cover are in good condition, free from faults. The stamp was removed for examination decades ago and is signed by Aimé Brun. Certificates from Pascal Scheller (2024) and Jean-François Brun (2024) Yvert = € 90'000. An extremely rare item that travelled across nearly the entire country in the depths of winter - on the first day of the year 1849 and the very first day of French adhesive postage stamps.
