165 cover image1866: Verticais perforated 60 r. grey-black, overlapping Dom Pedro 1876 rouletted 200 r. black used on 1877 cover to Firenze, Italy tied by segmented cork cancels in black with Rio de Janeiro despatch cds (Aug 31) below. The 60 r. with contemporary closed tear and one blunt perf., the cover roughly opened at base with Torino cds and Firenze arrival (Sept 23); nevertheless the 60 reis is rare on letter (Scott = $ 600) sold together with 1878 Dom Pedro 700 r. red-brown used. 2318 cover imageBrazil 1940 (July 8th), complete sample coffee bag with printed L.A.T.I seagull logo on front, addressed to Berlin, Germany, franked with 16,200 reis/5 g. all up air fee, on reverse with printed 'Café de BRASIL' logo and sent as sample without value. 2319 cover imageBrazil 1941 (July 17th): Complete sample coffee bag, stuck with blue boxed "POR AVIAO / VIA L.A.T.I." handstamp and typed inscription 'AMOSTRA SEM VALOR' (sample without value) from Pernambuco to Munich Germany, franked with 6 x 5'400 reis/5 g. (32'400 reis) all up air fee, carried by SM75 I-BUEN departing Brazil July 20th 1941, no censorship. A fine decorative sample bag with boxed handstamp. An unusual usage in good condition. 2346 cover image1941 (July 19): LATI publicity envelope (PE5) used on the Inaugural flight from Rio de Janeiro to Buenos Aires, franked with 1600 reis and special Lati label applied, cover struck by two diff. 'VOO INAUGURAL BRASIL-ARGENTINA' cachets in black as well as in purple. Adhesives minimal toned as ususal, a rare first flight cover. In July 1941 LATI extended their service to Buenos Aires. A special commemorative cachet was used on the inaugural flight. (Image 1) (Image 2)
