6366 cover imageRusso-Japanese War, 1905 (Sept 18): Insured cover used to send 300 roubles to Vindava, Courland Province, franked on reverse 3 k., 4 k. (strip of 3 + single) and 50 k. Arms issue, cancelled in violet "No. 4 FIELD POST OFFICE / PRIAMUR DISTRICT". Wax seals alongside with the same inscription. Blue cachet of "2nd NERCHINSK COSSACK REGIMENT". Blue bordered registration label reads: "RESERVE FIELD POST OFFICE No. 4" with NINGUTA added by hand. VINDAVA arrival backstamp (Oct. 22). Opened out for Exhibit display, small part of backflap missing at top not affecting adhesives. Note: This cover established the location of No. 4 FPO at Ninguta, Manchuria.
