513 cover image1902 (March): Rosette overprint in red on Typeset provisionals, 2nd. printing, 12 ch. ultramarine & buff imperforate, small group of four 1902 covers, two with single frankings: one with Type I 12 ch. to Hochst, Germany from Teheran via Baku, another with Type I 12 ch. used from Schmeran to Smyrne, Turkey via the Russian P.O. in Constantinople with Russian P.O. in Smyrne arrival in violet; double rate cover with Type I 12 ch. in horizontal pair used to Tucuman, Argentina (rare) and mixed issue franking cover with Type I 12 ch. used with 1899 1 ch. grey and two pairs of 2 ch. brown ex Rescht to Teheran; together with 5 ch. red & buff usages on domestic covers (3), 2 kr. green & blue unused examples (3) and used (2); 10 kr. unused, page of unoverprinted 2 ch. red-brown & yellow showing posiitional flaws; scarce Type II 2 ch., 5 ch. and 10 ch. unused (Scott 281, 283, 284) and the collection's important introductory pages noting the overprint types. Local / near rate + 12 ch. registration fee + registration receipt for lcoal rate). Huge intact red wax seal of the German Consul in Schimeran at centre. An extremely rare stamp and much under-catalogued. Signed Sadri Scott = $ 2'000. Note: The rarity of this stamp, and its lack of use either on cover or on document suggests the 3 chahi could more properly be termed "prepared for use but unissued"; however a few are known cancelled.
