6120 cover image1891 (May 30): 2 d. registered postal stationery envelope used locally, uprated with 1884 Revenue 3 d. and 1888/91 1 d. on 2 s. (3), the 1 d. adhesives tied by Grenville "D" cds on May 30, the revenue later cancelled by same cds dated June 1 and cut through with a sharp knife, arrival backstamp of the same day. Tone spots , otherwise fine. Note: the 1 d. on 2 s. stamps each just show a second strike of ´POSTAGE´ in the top margin. Provenance: J. Charlton Henry, April 1961; G.L. 259 cover image1916: 'El Presidente' illustrated printed envelope, addressed to the President of the Aero Club of America in New York, endorsed "Correo Aereo, S.S. Jerwan" at base, franked by 1912/17 perfinned Official 50 c. red-brown & blue in a vertical pair and strip of eight and reverse with 10 c. orange & blue in a strip of four lightly cancelled in blue, flown on the 1916 Demonstration Flight in Guatemala City at the end of June 1916 by Pilot Shakir Saliba Jerwan and thence mailed on registered (June 27) to the USA - note this Trial flight took place some 7 years before the first flight listed in Muller. Reverse with Presidential wax seal in red, and New York arrivals (July 7) in violet and black. An extraordinary cover - the sole item carried on the Demonstration flight and thus unique.
