Late Mail 1879/80: 8 c. blue vertical pair and 25 c. olive-yellow, used on 1885 cover from Port Louis to Lyons, France endorsed "via Marseille" tied by "B53" obliteratros in black. UPU single rate of 16 cents + 25 cents Late
Fee. Reverse with "Mauritius" code A cds of despatch (Feb 16) and carried on the Ligne T Paquebot "Yarra" to Marseille with octagonal "POSS. AN. / PAQ. FR. T No. 1" struck in black (Salles fig. 2154). Lyon arrival cds (March 8). Minor soiling but
scarce - the latest example of a Late Fee cover the owner recorded. Signed G. Lamy. Note: Late Fee regulations remained similar under decimalisation which scheduled the Late Fee surcharge as follows: between 2 and 2.30 pm = 25 c., 2.30 and 3.00 pm =
