Poste Egiziane / Costantinopoli" despatch cds (May 14) with handstruck "80" (paras) due marking in black (taxed at double the 1 piastre Port-to-Port rate) applied on despatch. Reverse with "V.R. Poste Egiziane / Smirne" cds (May 16) of arrival. Slight staining but an extremely rare, possibly unique usage between two Territorial Post Offices. Exhibition item. Poste Egiziane / Costantinopoli" despatch cds's (Aug 25) with framed handstruck "AFFRANCATURA / INSUFFICIENTE" in black and "5" (piastres) due marking at top applied on despatch. Underpaid 1 pi. for the double rate and taxed at double deficiency (2 pi.) and Fined (3 pi.). Reverse with Alexandria cds (Aug 29) and Cairo arrival (same day). 1180 image1862/1980: Fine collection on densely packed Minkus pages. The earlier issues up to about 1930 are used, unused, or both, while from around 1930 onwards, the stamps are almost exclusively unused, mostly hinged. The 1934 UPU set is unmounted. A significant number of surcharge stamps bear the guarantee cancel from the 'King Fouad collection', with also stamps signed by the expert Bloch.
