All stamps never hinged, just small part of margin at top has tiny paper adhesion. Two stamps on the bottom row have the variety "short 4" to surcharge. 5198 cover imageFrench Occupation 1915: 5 pf. green postal card, used from Ngaoundere to Caen, France, endorsed "Franchise de Guerre" with the location and dated "29 June 15". Sent via Yola with very fine strike of the "YOLA NORTHER NIGERIA" double circle datestamp in black to the front. Small surface rub at top, otherwise fine and most unusual. The use of the German postcard had no postal significance. The Allied Forces moving north captured Ngaoundere on 28th June 1915. The card was endorsed the day after but not actually written until 4th July. Scarce(Image 1) (Image 2)
