1913: De La Rue Die Proof for the 1 d. value printed in grey-black on stamp sized glazed
thick card paper (25 x 32 mm.) with black surround, Stage 9, with design completed including addition of AUSTRALIA and POSTAGE with head on horizontally lined background, Wattles completed but with spur on head and back of head retouched. Rare and
splendid Proof, Perkins Bacon sub-contracted the work to De La Rue (as apparent from these Proofs which were sold from their archives in 1976); this Proof being on the glazed white card is typical of their Die Proofs produced for Great Britain and
