3568 image1885: Stampless envelope, sent from León, Nicaragua to Bremen, Germany, dated on transit at Panama 6 June 1885, with light strike of the 'AGENCIA CORREOS NACIONAL / PANAMA' duplex in black, to reverse printed backflap 'B COMDÜHR & Ca. / LEON / NICARAGUA', New York/Panama transit dated 15 June and Bremen arrival dated 27 June 1885,  has expert mark of Carl H. 5422 image1869: 5 c. black, perf and 1878 rouletted 25 c. green, used on 1881 cover from Granada to Paris, France, tied by framed "3 / G" handstamp in black, with circular "CORREOS DE NICARAGUA / GRANADA" faintly in blue to left, franked in combination with Great Britain 1880 1½ d. venetian red and 1 s. orange-brown plate 13, partially overlapping the Nicaragua 5 c. adhesive, which are tied by "Grey Town" cds (Oct 15 code B with month error) in black with information strike at left. Reverse with London transit dated (Nov 11) in red. Reinforcement tape to back to close small tear to envelope at lower left, two vertical filing creases not affecting the stamps, one of three known - this being mailed on the same day as the "Dubois" example (Corinphila sale 253, Sept 2020, lot 5617). There is a fine registered cover with 5x 2 c. issue 1892 + registration stamp from 1900 + registration label from New York to Germany; 7 registered envelopes all addressed to same person in Budapest, each letter with registration label from New York and franking with 1903 overprint stamps in various combinations, including inverted, 3 other letters also to Budapest including 2 AR-covers (one with 'retardo' stamp) and a letter unregistered + one front. 1 cover issue 1905 on envelope endorsed 'CANAL COMMISSION CANAL ZONE' from local use. 3501 image1807: Entire letter from Panama to Santa Fè de Bogotá (New Granada), dated 30 September 1807, addressed to Camilo Torres, with superb strikes of the 'PANAMÀ' straightline handstamp (Tizon 2 = RR) in combination with a superb "FRANCA" handstamp (Tizon 4 = RRR), both in red, indicating pre-payment, exceptional quality, extremely rare; one of four letters reported with both marks, this being the earliest known and by far the better example and only twenty-one covers with the 'PANAMÀ' handstamp are recorded during the Colonial Period.rnNote: Camilo Torres  (1766 - 1816), was a Colombian Politician credited as being an early founder of the Panama nation due to his fight for independence from Spain. He was executed for treason against the Spanish monarchy.rnReference: Copacarta, September 1992, Jim Cross (described this cover as the only reported letter with both marks, subsequently an additional example was discovered, dated 2 December 1808 which sold at the Dr Hugo Goeggel sale, Corinphila, February 2013, lot 4264, (CHF 2'600) and later ex Alfredo Frohlich, Robert A.
