The letter is endorsed "par l'angeterre" and bears a London transit (March 26), red PD and a "210" (Reis) Tax mark on arrival. Reverse with Lisbon (April 2) arrival. 926 image1854 (31 July): Triple rate Lettersheet from Le Havre to Lima, Peru via Panama, bearing on front and reverse Napoléon laureated 10 c. bistre and 20 c. blue as well as two strips of three, three pairs and three single examples of 40 c. orange, tied / cancelled by multiple strikes of Petits Chiffres '1495' numeral in red, three adhesives in addition by "FOREIGN PAID" handstamp in red, "BUREAU MARITIME LE HAVRE" despatch cds, framed PD and London PAID (2 Aug), all in red struck to front. Although '2' noted on front pointing to a second weight rate cover, this item was correctly franked three times 210 centimes from France with British vessel to the Pacific Coast of South America, following the tariff of August 1849. As to be expected for a franking of this sheer extent, filing folds and cutting irregularities are present, nevertheless an impressive and attractive cover from these early years. Signed Brun. Cert. 928 image1862: Registered wrapper within Sarlat, bearing a mass franking of Napoléon laureated 2 c. red brown, type I, three horizontal strips of five, fresh and fine examples, each stamp tied by clear Gros Chiffres '3301' lozenge, despatch cds (Aug. 18, 1869) and CHARGÉ in red alongside. A marvellous item full of character ex Provera, the franking of 30 centime is correct for a Printed Matter item between 50 and 100 grams including the 20 centime registration. Signed E.
