1930 Large registered, TRIPLE WEIGHT cover from Addis-Abbeba to Lucerne, Switzerland franked by pair ½m. from the 1930 "HAYLE" Proclamation I issue and a pair of 4m. of
the "HAILE" Proclamation II issue. The total franking of 9m. correctly pays for a triple weight registered cover to abroad (3m. for first weight, 1½m. for each of the two subsequent weight classes, and 3m. for registration). The left of the 4m.
stamps with an overprint ERROR in the 2nd Amharic line (sheet pos. 4, listed by Payne). All stamps tied by "ADDIS-ABBEBA 30.VIII.1930" cds, reg. label on front, Luzern arrival cds on the reverse. The right-hand 4m. stamp with a piece torn off at top,
and also the cover with a piece torn off in upper left corner. Despite these flaws, this is a great "heavy" cover with great franking to include postal use of overprint variety/error. (Ex Germenis)
