1916, cover with2 x 1d South Africa with manuscript cancellation "FHN / 27.4.16" of the German postal agency FELDSCHUHHORN to an official office in Bethany. Transit postmark of Keetmanshoop on the reverse and the arrival postmark of Bethany (cancelled German postmark), boxed censor mark on the front. According to Herbert Busch, such cancellations are very rare. Cover and stamps have some patina and wear, which can be ignored in view of the rare item.
1916, Brief mit 2 x 1d Südafrika mit handschriftlicher Entwertung "FHN / 27.4.16" der deutschen Postagentur (Friedemann schreibt "Posthilfstelle") FELDSCHUHHORN an eine amtliche Stelle in Bethanien. Rückseitig Transitstempel von Keetmanshoop und der Ankunftstempel von Bethanien (aptierter deutsche Stempel).Nach Herbert Busch sind solche Entwertungen sehr selten. Brief und Marken haben etwas Patina und Gebrauchsspuren, die bei der Seltenheit des Stückes ignoriert werden können.

1870, 24 C green & violet, tied by manuscript receiving docketing "Rec'd. from PM upon usual oath with leave to open March 21, 1870" on cover addressed to the Superior Court of Talbot County in Talbotton Georgia, on the frontside light strike of New York Registered, MAR.9, date stamp along with various manuscript court docketing. Envelope slightly reduced at left, stamp with small part of top right corner off, on reverse red paper seals from the Commissioners for Georgia in New York. A census and analysis by J.W.Rose & R.M.Searing lists 72 domestic usages of this stamp on cover, this particular cover is listed in the book, because it was recorded by Ashbrook and offered in Siegel sale (Sept.1961), it last appeared at Corey Long sale in 2007. 1917, Washington, two varieties "imperf. between": 1c. green horizontal pair and 2c. rose vertical pair, mint original gum, 1c. with toned enclosures. Both pairs are showing "blind perfs", 1c. weakly/rather invisible in between, and 2c. clearly visible through lower stamp. Although these are not the listed varieties, nevertheless interesting and attractive. Two certificates Philatelic Foundation (1962).
