34 imageEXTENSIVE U.S. MINT INVENTORY 690//1336, includes thousands of singles, blocks, plate blocks and S/S's, all are contained in glassines with most being in counts of 100 but also some at 25 and 50 and virtually all the glassines have a count, all are packed alike (i.e. singles, blocks etc.) by Scott number, quantities generally in the 25-300 with some higher here and there, packed into 23 red boxes and then in large cartons, virtually all are "face" but there are some which are "better than face" included in the earlier issues, virtually all are NH, there will be some scattered faults due to the sheer bulk of this lot but really for the most part quite clean, this "old time" inventory was put together many years ago and then maintained and added to over the years, a huge number of stamps and one can only imagine how many hundreds of gradable "100's" are in this group, if there were only 100 stamps out of these tens of thousands that graded 100, at a market value of about $200 per 100 grade that would be $20,000 retail, quite intriguing huh?, we carefully did totals on the glassines and checked many of the glassines for individual counts and by far most were right on, but, we came up with about $8,500 in total face for this lot but it could be off by a few points either way, a most interesting opportunity with virtually all the work done and certainly a very easy inventory to work with, Total Face = about $8,500 (Image)
