 1891 (Apr 5) Korea Fusan Customs Mail Matter cover from Mrs. Hunt to Mrs. Appenzeller in Seoul, Mrs. Hunt, “Loomis Hunt”, Wife of J.H. Hunt, commissioner of Fusan Custom, applied with a clear strike of "Fusan Customs / Mail
Matter" oval cachet in violet at upper right. Two pages of original letter (with the transription). The content is mostly concerning the Fusan Customs Commissioner J. H. Hunt who “has grown tired of waiting for the Customs to build, so he has
commenced to build at his own expense….” and “the carpenter contracts to finish at end of June”. Among the three Chinese Imperial Customs Post offices, Seoul, Jenchuan and Fusan in Korea used "CUSTOMS / MAIL MATTER" markings, the "FUSAN CUSTOMS /
MAIL MATTER" marking is the rarest, with only two stamps and two covers have so far been found. And it is also the only one sent within Korea. An absolute rarity. 2019 (Dec) John Bull Auctions, lot 5131.

釜山海關公文封，由何文德夫人寄漢城之Appenzeller夫人，右上角蓋有極為稀罕難得之釜山海關橢圓形公文戳。附有兩頁原信及謄寫抄本。信件内容提及大清駐釜山海關稅務司何文德（J. H. Hunt）对于當地海關公署的建設進度感到不滿，決定自掏腰包興建，並提到木匠合同將於六月到底等。此信反映大清海關在釜山的業務經已展開，但尚未完善。而釜山的海關業務亦因仁川海關建立而縮減，故存世例子極罕。
在三處朝鮮之大清清關﹕漢城、仁川及釜山中，以釜山之公文戳記最為稀罕難得，已知僅有兩枚郵票及兩件信封存世，而此為朝鮮境內實寄之孤例，實為可遇不可求之一大珍品。2019年12月布約翰拍賣，拍品號5131。(Image 1)

 1897 Tientsin (8 Jan) to Peking. Cash cover, applied with Customs Tientsin violet cds and extremely scarce "POSTAGE PAID" cachet. Arrived I.G. of Customs Peking (9 Jan). Only a few examples of this h.s exist which was used
during the transitional period between the Customs and Imperial Post. Other examples of this h.s. were mostly addressing to Alfred E. Hippisley, Inspectorate-General of Customs.
