SMS Vaterland was taken over by Chinese Navy since China declared war to Germany.

447 cover image1949 USA (6 Apr) to Kansu, redirected to Hong Kong andf India. F.w. US issues, tied by Sherrill meter stamp. In combination with Revenue stamp surch Silver Yuan 4c in pair, tied by Kansu Ningsia (2 Jul) cds upon arrival. Redirected to Hong Kong (9 Aug) and India (6 Sep) but still not delivered and forwarded to Dead Letter Office. Re-sealed due to bad condition. Interesting postmarking and route.

1949.4.6 美國寄甘肅，改寄香港及印度。貼美國票，銷Sherrill機戳。加貼印花稅票加蓋銀圓4分雙連，銷甘肅寧夏7.2到達戳。改寄香港，8.9抵達。再改寄印度，9.6抵達，但仍未能送抵。轉死信局。曾因破損重封。戳記豐富精彩。鈐“航空”指示戳。另見退回指示戳。(Image 1) (Image 2)

Arrived Shanghai (21 Mar). Example of hyperinflation. This rate only lasted between 11 Mar and 20 Mar 1949.

Transit Chungking (16 Nov). Arrived Shapingpa (17 Nov). The Province of Sikang was liberated in 1950. Very late example of ROC postage. Cover trimmed on top.
