registered label. Transit Yokohama. Censored and re-sealed. Arrived New Jersey (13 Aug). Kalgan Russian PO stocked ordinary Russian stamps only. Until 1917, it was supplied with surch Chinese currency stamps. 2012 (Apr) David Feldman, lot 20048.

 1916 China Empire. 1916. Urga (17 Mar) to Kalgan. Red band cover, f.w. Junk 6c, tied by Urga (Hung Hsien) 1st year cds.Arrived Kalgan (27 Mar) with (ROC) 5th year cds. Faced with strong opposition, Yuan Shikai abducted
from Emperor on 23 March and bacame President again, hence the era of the Republic was restored. Very interesting cover that overlapped the Empire and Republic period.

 1921 Urga (Jan) to Sanchuanchen via Min Chu. Red band cover, privately carried to Kalgan and f.w. Junk 3c, tied by Kalgan (14 Jan) cds. Transit Taiyuan (17 Jan), Fenyang (18 Jan) with Min Chu vertical seal on reverse for
forwarding to Sanchuanchen. Urga Chinese PO was closed in Jan 1921 due to political chaos and the latest example recorded by Hellrigl was dated 18 Jan 1921. This one was not posted at Urga Chinese PO probably because the PO was already not
functioning normally by that time.
1921.1.21 庫倫經民信局寄三泉鎮。紅條封，先私遞至張家口，再貼帆船3分，銷1.14張家口日戳。1.17經太原，1.18經汾陽，鈐“晉汾永和長分莊東口書”民信局直戳，以送至三泉鎮。庫倫中國郵局於1921年1月關閉，Hellrigl記錄最晚之信封為1月18日。此封未經庫倫中國郵局投遞可能是由於當時郵局服務已受限。經民信局轉遞更是難得。(Image 1)

 1911 Kiachat (22 Mar) to Russia. CIP 4th print PSC, uprated by Coiling Dragon 1c + 2c, tied by scarce "Mongolia / Kiachta" lunar year cds. Transit Troitskosavsk Russian PO (9 Mar) with Hellrigl type 1b cds, Arrived St.
Petersburg (21 Mar). Although Kiachat Chinese PO operated for over a decade, existing examples are very scarce as Hellrigl only recorded 29 examples and AVA reocrded a few more. Usage on imperial stationery card even elevates its rarity.
1911.3.22 恰克圖寄俄國。大清第四版郵資片，加貼蟠龍1分 + 2枌，銷少見之“蒙古 / 恰克圖”腰框干支日戳。3.9經恰克圖俄局。3.21經聖彼得堡。雖然恰克圖中國郵局運作超過十年，但存世例子寥寥可數，Hellrigl記錄僅有29件，艾華另見數件。而使用清片更是錦上添花，可遇不可求。(Image

 1922 Urga (28 Dec) to Petrograd. Registered cover, frankless, applied with “URGA / MONGOLIA” prepaid rectangular h.s., very scarce type 1 “Oplachen” (Paid) horizontal h.s and Urga Russian type 7b cds. Arrived Petrograd (23
Jan). It is the second earliest one of the 22 covers during the Intrim period recorded by Hellrigl (while Siegel Auctions reocrded 24) and it is one of the only two applied with type 1 "Oplachen" h.s. which even elevated its rarity.
