(18 Nov). It is the earliest recorded use of Canton Webb type 1 and 2 according to Webb and Dr. Andrew Cheung.

 1856 USA (24 Nov) to Augustine Heard Co., Canton. Entire letter, sent "pr Europa via Marseilles", rated "96" and "86", applied with Boston origial cds. Transit London (9 Dec). Showing "Chge Box 1824" indicating the letter was
delivered in care of post office box in Hong Kong. In Dec 1856, fire destroyed the factory area at Canton including the post office. Merchantes were evacuated to Whampoa where a temporary postal agency was set up on 9 Jun 1858. The new post office
was opened on 23 Mar 1859.

 1859 Scotland (7 Jan) to a surgeon of the 65th Regiment, Canton. Entire letter, f.w. QV 1d + 4d in pair for 9d officer rate, tied by Aberdeen cds. Showing "via Marseilles / Recd 1st Mar" anntotation. Transit London (8 Jan),
Hong Kong (27 Feb) and forwarded to the temporary postal agency in Whampoa by gunboat as the Canton Post Office was destroyed in Dec 1856. The new post office was opened on 23 Mar 1859.

 1873 Canton (20 Jun) to England, applied with Canton BPO Webb type B cds on reverse. On front f.w. Hong Kong QV 24c for British-packet-via-Southampton rate. Thie cover was first carried by post-boat to Hong Kong and cancelled
adhesive with B62 obliterator and Hong Kong (20 Jun) cds. Arrived York (13 Aug). Between 1866 and 1875, Canton type B cds was only applied on the reverse of mail and adhesive would be cancelled by B62 obliterator at Hong Kong.

 Hong Kong QV 6c used stamps, both cancelled by C1 obliterator in blue. C1 obliterator is rarer in blue than in black and only one cover is known (dated 13 Oct 1875, Ex- Ishikawa and Burghard, now in the collection of Hong Kong
Museum of History) which made used stamps the only way to acquire this cancellation.
香港維多利亞女皇像6仙舊票，銷C1藍色殺手戳。藍色之C1殺手戳較黑色少見，實寄封存世已知僅有一件（日期為1875年10月13日，石川良佐及Burghard舊藏，現為香港歷史博物館集藏），故舊票成為入手之唯一途徑。(Image 1)

 1876 Canton (2 Jun) to Belgium, f.w. Hong Kong QV 18c in pair, tied by C1 obliterator in black, matching with Canton BPO cds on reverse. Transit Hong Kong (3 Jun). Transit Brindisi (13 Jul). Arrived Moll (16 Jul). It is the
earliest recorded usage of C1 obliterator in black. Same correspondence with the only known cover applied with C1 obliterator in blue (dated 13 Oct 1875, Ex- Ishikawa and Burghard, now in the collection of Hong Kong Museum of History).

NAPLES & LONDON", indicating this card carried by French packet MI Ava. One of the two 5c/18c card applied with C1 obliterator (another one was seen in Christie's Robson Lowe 12 Nov 1987, lot 3028).

 1901 (16 Mar) American Legation, Peking cover to Cavite, Manila, missent to Canton, f.w. Coiling Dragon 10c in pair, tied by oval Peking PO d.s. Transit Shanghai Chinese PO (22 Mar). In combination with Hong Kong QV surch
20c/30c, tied by Shanghai BPO (25 Mar) cds. Cover missent to Canton (29 Mar) with scarce "MISSENT TO CANTON"cachet. Mistake was discovered by staff in Canton and redirected to Manila (7 Apr). Webb did not record this "MISSENT TO CANTON" marking while
it is one of the four examples recorded by Dr. Andrew Cheung among which it is the earliest.
1901.3.16 美國駐北京使館封寄馬尼拉Cavite，誤寄廣州，貼蟠龍2角，銷北京郵政局橢圓形日戳。3.22經上海清郵。加貼香港維多利亞女皇像改值20仙蓋30仙，銷上海英局3.25日戳。誤寄廣州，於3.29抵達，鈐少見之“MISSENT TO
