 1853 Hong Kong (13 Jul) to USS Saratoga via US Naval Lyceum, f.w. Washington imperf 3c, tied by Brunswick PAID cds, alongside with “U.S. Naval Lyceum” oval seal. Flap damaged. With original letters. The U.S. Naval Lyceum was
founded in 1833 by a group of Navy and Marine Corps officers. The oval handstamp was applied to mail forwarded to naval personnel from the U.S. Naval Lyceum in Brooklyn at no additional charge.
