1397 cover image1937 Gyantse (Sep) to F.M. Bailey, British Legation in Nepal, f.w. Tibet 3rd issue 1/2tr in pair on reverse, tied by Lhasa h.s. In combination with Indian KGV 1a, tied by Gyantse BPO cds (30 Sep). Arrived Nepal (8 Oct). F.M. Bailey retired in 1938 after serving as the envoy to the court of Nepal.

1398 cover image1950 Lhasa to USA. Registered cover, f.w. Tibet 3rd issue complete set, tied by Lhasa h.s. In combination with Indian issue x3, tied by Gyantse (9 Dec) cds and affiexed with extremely scarce type BR-15 registered label with Gyantse type GE registered mark. The receiver Aaron Binder was an active philatelist. Only a few examples of this registered label exist.

1950年拉薩寄美國，貼西藏獅圖第三版全，銷拉薩戳記。加貼印度票3枚，銷江孜12.9日戳，另貼極罕之 BR-15型掛號標籤，蓋GE型江孜掛號戳記。收件人為Aaron Binder，為當時活躍之集郵家。此掛號標籤存世僅數件。(Image 1) (Image 2)

1399 cover imageA 5-frame collection of “Rocket Mail in Colonial India 1934-1939”, including 1st and 2nd official Sikkim Durbar Experiments which are important theme for both Tibetan and Indian and aerophilatelists. Exhibit pages are mounted with covers and stamps ready for exhibition and does not require much further adjustment for exhibition. A Once-and-for-all collection.

1401 cover image1936 Mountaineering expedition cover by climber Frank Smythe to England via Gangtok, frankless. On front with Everest type G handfilled h.s. On reverse with Skkim oval seal and a label explaining the late delivery of the mail. F.w. Britain 2-1/2d upon arrival at Surrey (26 Jan). 2020 (Dec) David Feldman, lot 41182. On 6 Jul 1936, the expedition returned to Gangtok and found that all the mails since April were not delivered. Unsent mails were found in the postmaster’s house. He was arrested for stealing mails. He was released in 1937 after appeal. 494 out of 1000 missing mails were retrieved.

1936年登山探險隊封由Frank Smythe經甘托克寄英國。正面蓋有額峰G型戳記。背面鈐錫金橢圓戳記 及貼有一張闡述郵件遲遞之原因。1.26抵Surrey，補貼1-1/2便士。2020.12 David Feldman，拍品號41182。 1936年7月6日，登山隊回到甘托克，發現4月以來的郵件無一寄達。支局局長的房子中發現了未寄出的郵件。 他隨後因偷取郵件被捕並入獄，在1937年上訴後獲釋。1000件未寄郵件中有494件被追回。(Image 1) (Image 2)

1506 cover image1939 (21 Mar) Cover from Tsarong Shape to Theos Bernard, USA, f.w. Indian 2a6p + 4a, tied by Gyantse BPO cds, alongside with registered label. Arrived New York (20 Apr). On reverse with Tsarong crest. Theos Bernard was a friend of Tsarong and one of the a few American in Tibet.

1310 cover image1910. All royal mails were channeled through the Royal Dispatch Office, and a Daily Return was reported to the Minister of War. This 5/10 Return (with cover) recorded among others an outgoing mail from the Cabinet to the Lhasa Amban, Tibet.
