Very Fine Example of this Scarce Stamp on an Attractive Cover

Included in the Honour's City Post Census By Larry Lyons, and illustrated in Figure 4 Only 8 Other Covers Recorded This Honour's variety contains a spelling error where the word "Cents" is spelled as "Cens." The stamp with ample margins to just touching a few ornaments with manuscript cancel for carriery delivery to the Post Office. The stamp has been lifted and replaced. The 3c stamp with large margins to slightly in at right, tied by blue "Charleston S.C. Paid Mar. 29" circular datestamp, paying the postage to Sandy Grove S.C.. The cover with a shield handstamp return card on flap for "HOSCH & FLEMING MANUFACTURERS OF REFINED CANDY"

#1 in the Brown & McGill's U.S.P.O. Despatch, The Blue Stamp, 5LB2 Census by Larry Lyons The 5LB2 with large to huge margin, tied by blue 6 bar grid with matching "Louisville Ky. Aug. 4, 1860" circular datestamp. Addressed from Louisville, KY to Mt. Sterling, Ohio. The carrier stamp with tiny toned specks and a tiny scuff at top left margin, the 3c with a few short perfs. A VERY FINE AND BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF THE BROWN & McGILL'S CARRIER STAMP TIED BY LOUISVILLE GRID CANCEL. ONLY SIX OR SEVEN COVERS ARE KNOWN WITH THIS TIED USAGE, AND THIS IS ONE OF THE TWO FINEST RECORDED.

The 5c, with margins all around, is struck with red New York Grid Duplex. The cover with small tears at bottom and wrinkles. Only 15 recorded uses of the 6LB11 on Cover with the #1.

Included in the The Philadelphia Carrier Sausage Adhesives 7LB11 to 7LB13 Census By Larry Lyons Folded letter dated April 22, 1851, addressed to Gustavius Remat at 183 N. 6th St.  The stamp with a pre-usage horizontal crease which breaks the paper. This is the Only Example recorded in the census to be tied by the drop rate marking.
