6a charge, crossed out and replaced by red "KURRACHEE / PAID" datestamp. Birch informs Young that the Governor-General is not contemplating making Scinde a part of the Punjab, and gives news of the Commander-in-Chief. A scarce and unusual use of

1853 (July 12) Stampless cover with enclosed letter from Herbert Edwardes at Abbottabad - Huzara, addressed to "Major Keith Young, Judge Advocate Genl, Head Quarters, Simla", the reverse with red boxed "HUZARA / Paid" and "SIMLA" datestamps.
Edwardes writes that he has just returned from a frontier expedition in the valley of Kagham where he had marches of 18 or 20 miles in the hills. Sir Herbert Edwardes founded Abbottabad in 1853. No Huzara datestamps are recorded by Hammond Giles.
