1843 (Jan 7) Entire letter from Aden, written by a soldier in hospital who hopes to be invalided out of the army, to his mother in Suffolk, the address panel headed "From Gunner Thos. Cooper in 4th Comp. 2nd Battn Artillery"
and countersigned, a "2" charge mark applied for the unpaid soldiers rate, some easily removed brown paper adhering at top, otherwise fine. A rare early soldiers letter sent just four years after Aden was ceded to Great Britain. Photo on Page
