1914 (Oct 14) Cover from Oblt. Canarias to his father in Germany, signed on the reverse, with two strikes of K.D.M.S No. 66 c.d.s whilst at Easter Island. Canarias later rose to Admiral of the Third Reich and head of the
Abwehr from 1935 until 1944; he was executed in 1945 for his part in the plot to assassinate Hitler. A rare cover from Easter Island. Photo on Page 92.

1914 (July-Oct) Postcards (4) and letters (2, no covers) from Berlin to Friedrich Lauer on the "Dresden" sent via the Marine Postbureau in Berlin, one a stampless Feldpost card, three franked 5pf, two of these posted prior to the war, a private
cachet showing all were received on 6 May 1915 when Lauer was interned at Isla Quiriquina, Chile. (6).

1915 Stampless cards from internees at Isla Quiriquina sent through the Marine Postbureau in Berlin, both with the "BERLIN C / 2 / MARINE / POSTBUREAU" c.d.s of Sept. 15th, one a Feldpost card, the other an unusual card with "Por Vapor Neutral" and
"Talcahuano, Chile" printed on the front and a 1914 Iron Cross on the reverse, handstamped "Zuruck". (2).

1916-17 Stampless covers (3, two with enclosed letters) from Germany to Friedrich Lauer, S.M.S "Dresden", the first addressed via the Marine Postbureau in Berlin and redirected to Insel Quiriquina, the others addressed directly to the camp in Chile.
One with red "Prisoner of War", one from a soldier in a balloon detachment with red circular "POST FREE / P.C. / PRISONERS OF WAR", the third with red "FRANC DE PORT" and "COMITE INTERNATIONALE DE LA CROIX ROUGE / GENEVE / AGENCE DES PRISONNIERS DE
GUERRE", unusual. (3).
