Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders who was captured in Malaya, comprising eight 1941-42 covers from Scotland to Malaya, one received in India and not returned until 1943, the others returned with various British cachets including boxed "NO SERVICE" (3) and "Air Mail fee 1s 1½d / refunded"; 1944 3d P.O.W cards from Scotland to No. 4 P.O.W Camp Thailand both with red double ring "305" arrival c.d.s (Nov. 12) and boxed "RETURNED IN UNDELIVERED MAILS / FROM TERRITORY FORMERLY OCCUPIED / BY JAPANESE FORCES"; and 1945 stampless covers and cards from Hunter after Liberation with a Sept. 17 card headed "25 Camp Fukuoka" (U.S Navy duplex), three Nov. 2-6 covers or cards from Canada endorsed "LIB. POW" with Victoria M.P.O 1103 c.d.s (2) or Edson, Alba. c.d.s and "6" charge mark, and an Oct. 20 telegram from Melbourne. (15).

1640 1933 (Feb 17) Cover from Sungei Bakap to London, the reverse franked 4c (2) + 50c for air mail by KLM, burnt at the edges, the reverse endorsed "Damaged in transit. Penang 17.11.1933" and initialled with a Penang c.d.s alongside. Very unusual, damaged in an unknown incident between Sungei Bakap and the G.P.O at Georgetown.

1643 1941 (Sep 17) Registered cover from Singapore to England franked $4.15 "air throughout via Manila", censor label and cachet, right edge with a London G.P.O Officially Sealed label tied by Registered London E.C hooded circle (Oct. 8), twice handstamped violet "DAMAGED BY / WATER", addressees name and first address line excised, otherwise fine, possibly damaged during the London Blitz. Very unusual.

1935 (July 17) KLM "Maraboe" Crash at Bushire

1644 1935 (July 11/12) Covers, the July 11 cover from Soerabaja to Amsterdam franked 42½c, a little burnt, forwarded within a Dutch "DIENST PTT" ambulance envelope with printed explanation; July 12 cover from Singapore with three 25c Silver Jubilee stamps, severely burnt, endorsed "Damaged in Air Crash" and initialled. Only 25kg of the 116kg of mail carried was recovered, all fire damaged, most of it originating in the Netherlands Indies. (3).
