53 U.S.A. c.1850 Valentine envelopes, a large envelope superbly printed on both sides with flowers and patterns in gold, addressed to Albany with Louisville, Ky. c.d.s; six other embossed envelopes with enclosed embossed or paperlace cards (4) or handwritten valentine poems (2), one addressed within Philadelphia backstamped "BLOOD S / PENNY POST / PHILIDA" c.d.s (Feb 12), two posted within Springfield, Ohio with red "PAID" and Springfield c.d.s (Feb 16) or to Mt. Pleasant, Ohio handstamped "PAID", three others hand delivered, two bearing wafer seals. (7 + 4 cards).

55 U.S.A. c.1860-1910 Valentine cards (24), later postcards (5), 1914 valentine poster stamps within their original box (12), 1930 cover bearing a similar poster stamp, and 1934-35 covers with U.S Ship Valentine s day cancels, also an 1879 price list for chromolithographic scraps, two letters bearing such scraps and a few unused examples. A good lot, many of the cards very elaborate. (47+).
