Cronje/Sterndale. 1900 (Aug 7) Cover (royal arms embossed on flap) to the USA franked 2½d, cork cancel (Proud K96), St. Helena and Southampton Ship Letter datestamps. The enclosed letter, on notepaper of "The Castle", is written and signed by
R.A Sterndale, Governor of St. Helena - "I hope the enclosed autographs which you wished for will make a small addition to your collection. I have signed the card you sent me but General Cronje does not like being asked and so I send you his
signature from one of the letters addressed to me". The two pieces, signed by Cronje and Sterndale, are enclosed.

1911 Unissued 1d red overprinted "SPECIMEN" type D12, or handstamped violet "SPECIMEN" type SH2, both fine mint. This stamp was printed in the incorrect colour, so was destroyed upon receipt at St. Helena; it was
