It took only 12 years of mismanaged inflation, insane ideology in both the political and school systems, coupled with a social engineering revolution to turn the well-educated Grandchildren of Canada’s wealthiest generation ever (Baby Boomers)
into dependents. For much of this group, home ownership, well paid liberal post-University jobs, and leisure time are becoming dreams of the past. Extreme leaders in America, Europe and Australia did the same but America was the first to opt-out of
the disastrous Global Zero-Carbon and DEI Schemes. They are quickly recovering in spite of their 21 Trillion Dollar debt. So how is this affecting philately? Early Baby Boomers are now 75-80 years old and their collections are
rapidly coming on the market. There are still enough wealthy middle-aged collectors to compete for the top 10% material as evidenced by the record selling prices. The question is what happens to the 90% that remains? Although the number of stamp
collectors today is steadily growing through the internet, they currently have less disposable income and that directly impacts sales. Nice secondary collections that used to sell at 20%-40% of Scott are now selling at 5%-15%. This is not good news
for the Boomers, but there is a silver lining in those clouds. There has never been a time when spectacular collections are hitting the market at such affordable prices making this an incredible once in a lifetime opportunity for the budget
conscious collector. In addition, USA bidders get a bonus where $100 US Dollars now buys over C$140. So forget about the rising Gas Prices and the temporary Canada-USA Political Turmoil and really enjoy your stamp collecting! It’s
still the best therapeutic solution for most of life’s complications.
The annual Ron Leith Auction is on StampAuctionNetwork. It closes at 6:00 PM Pacific Time on Saturday October 24, 2026. The auction phone lines will remain open for another 3 hours on Saturday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
Catalogs are available upon request while the supply lasts, however, catalogs are printed in B&W with only a few lot images. The best lot viewing is on SAN where every lot, including all wholesale lots, are illustrated in color.

Strength is in Canada and USA overseas rates, scarce to rare Town Cancels, better Advertising covers, early First Day Cachet covers, Airmail and First Flight covers, Military, Railroad, and Ship related covers. There are also 3200 postcards in
1898-1914 wholesale collections noting early town views from Canada, USA, Great Britain, and Europe plus many scarce real photo cards and spectacular pre-1914 Greeting cards. The auction concludes with a “Once in a Lifetime”
offering of 1,200,000 stamps from 1840-2020 with some singles and sets, but most are unpicked wholesale collections sorted in albums and boxes by Country. There are hundreds of $500-$20,000 Scott Catalog value lots that will open at
