Cherrystone Auctions Sale - 0623

The Carl A. Kilgas Collection of China - June 14, 2023

Collected over a period of 60+ years and offered here for the first time, the Carl a. Kilgas collection of China will be sold via a series of auctions, starting with Part I on June 14, 2023, commencing at 10:00 A.M. in our Teaneck, New Jersey office. Mr. Kilgas wrote articles for the China Clipper from 1976 to 1985 and as a member of the Collectors Club of New York, he presented in the CCNY journal, outlining China's postal history, with illustrations of stamps and covers of from his own collection to tell the story. In 1984, he was selected to provide a few of his album pages to the 1984 ROCPEX exhibition in Taipei. Almost forty years later, we now present the first part of the Carl A. Kilgas collection, with selections of his extensive holding of the Large Dragons, Small Dragons, Dowagers and Chinese Imperial Post Coiling Dragons. Additional sales will follow later this year.
