1926 The Kingdom of Egypt was created in 1922, with King Fuad I installed as its first ruler. A passionate philatelist, he was instrumental in creating various commemorative issues, many featuring portraits of himself. In 1926, to celebrate his 58th birthday, a special high value stamp of the King as a naval commander was released, followed by a set of three International Navigational Congress pictorials.
