image CZECHOSLOVAK AIRMEN IN THE ROYAL AIR FORCE 1940-45: a beautifully presented 29 sheet display outlining the history of airmen who escaped the German invasion of Czechoslovakia and made their way to Britain to join the R.A.F. In many cases the individuals addressed have been researched. Amongst the postally used items are included a 11 July 1942 env. from Algeria to an undercover PO Box number, a 24 June 1943 2/6d air mail cover to Chile, a 13 Nov. 1942 env. to an airman training in Canada, an 8 June 1943 env. from the USA with censor seals from New York & the UK, a 13 July 1943 env. to Peru with 'sanitised' postmarks, a 9 Oct . 1943 air mail cover to Argentina with one 'sanitised' postmark (the use of the obliterator in both these cases was somewhat pointless as single postmarks were left 'un-sanitised'!), several other covers to and from USA, Canada, Bahamas, plus a useful quantity of non-philatelic items illustrating the display inc. a remarkably well produced '310 Squadron' Christmas Card. A wonderful lot of excellent quality. (22 cards/covers + 17 supporting items) (Image)
