GIURGIU: 1853 (4.19) Entire letter addressed to Hristea Georghiu in Bucharest, with bluish, Cyrillic bilinear date stamp “GIURGIU OCT 4”, very early use as the earliest date recorded is Sep 20, 1853 - see Heimbuchler, II, pg.53 (Dragomir type PV53 – 15R; see pg. 76-77), very fine and extremely rare as Giurgiu is one of the scarcest of the Cyrillic bilinear pre-stamp markings
