image 1866 (Aug 11): Great Britain 1864 1 d. red pl. 92, a horizontal pair (CK-CL) and strip of four (BI-BL) used on 1866 cover from Guayaquil to Lima cancelled by four strikes of the "C41" obliterator wih double arc 'Guayaquil' datestamp of despatch below (Aug 12). Mailed during the 'Dispute Period' where the Ecuadorean P.O. attempted to insist that Ecuador adhesives and British adhesive stamps should be used, the British refused to comply as nearly all mail was transmitted by the PSNC. Reverse with Lima arrival cds (Aug 16).
