EGIPTO. 1866 (Sept.). Small cover sent probably from ALEXANDRIA with egyptian 1 piastre lilac and french 10 cts. bistre block of four (one margin cut with scissors). The cover was sent directly to the french ship and tied on arrival at Marselle with 2240 dots grill. On front PAQUEBOTS/DE LA/MEDITERRANEE in red and arrival cancels on back. Egypt 5 m. rose carmine postal stationery card used to CASSEL, Germany from ALEXANDRIA and written on board P&O Steamer which stopped at Brindisi on route, where was cancelled by superb strike of italic PIROSCAFI POSTALI-INGLESI two line handstamp in black.
