1921/22: De La Rue Sample Proofs for the Tercentenary Second Issue 1 s.. in maroon, three imperforate examples, each overprinted SPECIMEN in black either horizontally or diagonally (Samuel Type DS1, DS2 and DS3 respectively), on thick unwatermarked paper. Multiple Script CA, an unused Imperforate Plate Proof on piece from the De La Rue records, showing "Break in Lines below Left Scroll" flaw (Row 4, stamp 9, position 57), annotated alongside in manuscript "App'd for Colour" and signed and dated "H.W. 9/7/32". Illustrated in "The De La Rue Collection" edited by Frank Walton RDP on page 2298. This Plate Proof pulled just weeks before the stamp was issued.
