1940, France, 1 F green "Iris", single franking on cover with full content, sent from ST.HILAIRE TOUVET, 3-9 40, to Tonkin in French Indochina. The cover has been seized by british forces, due to the closed Suez Canal shipped around Africa and censored in South Africa with S.A. censortape (U.C.8. small), arrival mark HANOI/TONKIN, 12-2 41 (more than 5 months after departure) on reverse. Envelope roughly opened and partly uneven at right, else fine condition. Scarce delayed censor mail!
