CHINA/HONG KONG COMBINATION CARD WITH SWATOW & KOWLOON DATESTAMPS; 27/30 Dec. 1898 usage of the China 1c Red P. Stat. PC (message in German; very slight edge wear at foot) from "I. M. Customs, Kowloon" to Salzburg with a very fine large bilingual 2-ring "SWATOW" cds cancelling the card, and having additional HK QV 2c Pair tied by both a large part scarce 2-ring "CUSTOMS/KOWLOON" cds's and a fine small HK cds. RARE CHINA/HONG KONG COMBINATION CARD TO SARAWAK WITH UNRECORDED (?) RED SWATOW UNFRAMED "I.P.O." TIE-PRINT; Remarkable 29 Aug. 1902 commercial usage of the China 1c Red P. Stationery PC (some edge wear; small closed tear at top does not detract) from "Swatow" to "Kuching, Sarawak" cancelled by one of the very fine small bilingual "SWATOW" cds's which also tie the China 1c+2c on the front, also franked by HK QV 2c Vertical Pair tied by a mainly fine 2-ring "VICTORIA" cds (30 Aug.), but also by a whisker of a fine RED unframed (not recorded thus by Webb) Swatow "I.P.O." mark (very like Webb type 3 but unframed), along with a very fine 2-ring "SINGAPORE" transit cds (12 Sept.). PC (minimal edge wear) to Scotland (ordering books) uprated with China 1c (3) all cancelled/tied by fine to very fine small bilingual "SWATOW" cds's, and also having a HK KEVII 4c Purple on Red in the opposite corner tied by a fine boxed Swatow "I.P.O." tie-print and a partly fine 2-ring "VICTORIA..." cds (11 Mar.). Unusually also with small "2c short" endorsement crossed through on the front. Plus off-cover 1924/39 KGV 10c & KGVI 5c(2) with large part scarce "FROM STEAMER BOX/SWATOW" cds's. RARE USE OF WEBB TYPE I C.D.S. ON NON-CHINA OVERPRINTED STAMP:1914 4c carmine (rounded lower right corner) with an exceptional strike of the double ring Webb type I "BRITISH PO(ST) O(FFICE)/SWATOW" c.d.s. of 23 Sept 1916. Note Webb (page 328) states "It is normally found on the CHINA on Hong Kong overprints which were introduced in 1917, but it has been seen dated 1916 on the 1c, 6c & 8c KGV adhesives of Hong Kong on which it is a rarity".
