1920 usage of Great Britain KGV 2d orange Die I x3 tied to piece by three fair to fine strikes of the 'ASCENSION/ DE24/20' cds SG #Z42, a couple of minor blemishes, Cat £285+.
112: '112' 1st Type very fine strike on 1867 cover with Laureates 2d pair & 4d, 21½mm 'DUNKELD' (the later of only two recorded examples) and 'BALMORAL' arrival b/s, repaired flap fault and small peripheral tears. Rated RRR. [Goldmining]
338: '338' First Type Original State (Side Bars) very fine strike on OHMS piece with over-inked 'WANNON/FE-16/62/ VICTORIA' cds alongside. Rated RRRRR. [Western District: located at Redruth R.S.]
722: '722' in small figures with single side bar (non-duplex type) of Canterbury on QV 2d violet. Rated RRRR. PO 22.11.1870; destroyed by fire May 1887; PO 23.2.1892.
1002: 'M2' (Second Type with 'M' = 11mm High) of Kalkee, light but obvious strike on Reading 1d orange. Rated RRRRR; no cds recorded. PO 9.8.1877; closed 1.7.1895. [Wimmera; 19km N of Horsham]
1946 airmail cover with "W Brajtbort, POB 644, Shanghai, China" on the flap to New Zealand Air Force serviceman at "NZAPO 333/Br. Com. Occup. Force/Japan" with Great Britain KGVI 3d tied 'AUST ARMY P.O./-8SE46/215' cds used at Kure (Japan) with violet boxed 'AUST. ARMY POSTAL SERVICE/APO/215' registration cachet alongside, 'No.8 AUST BASE P.O./A' b/s applied at Registration Section Kure, couple of very minor blemishes. Inwards BCOF mail is very scarce. [The use of a Chinese airmail label suggests carriage from China, but it is unclear how the cover was transported to Japan. The GB stamp was certainly not affixed in China &, in any event, paid only the postage & not the registration fee. This suggests the item was officially registered at Kure. More investigation required]
1853-55 Imperf 4c pale blue SG 20, margins close - at the top - to good, overinked but clear 'B G/A 5 C/DE7/1857' cds of Sparta (Proud Type D1), Cat £700. A very scarce stamp, especially this fine.
