TPO 6: 21½mm 'UP TRAIN/M.G.6/NO12/85/VICTORIA' cds (single dot arc; rated RR) cancelling 1d Postal Card from "Chiltern" to Rutherglen, 'SPRINGHURST' & 'RUTHERGLEN' b/s of same day. Wodonga Line; carried by Melbourne-bound train only as far as Springhurst where transfered to the Wahgunyah branch line to Rutherglen.
TPO 10 - DOWN: Octagon 'DOWN TRAIN/ MG10 /DE16/84/VICTORIA' very fine b/s - one of the finest srikes we have seen - on 2d Envelope from Geelong to Lethbridge (b/s), soiled & roughly opened with repaired tears well clear of the postmarks. Rated RRRR. [This is the only #10 marking & it is therefore one of the most eagerly sought-after. There was no #10 'UP' service & the d/s was withdrawn c. early-1890]
TPO 11 UP: Double-Circle Relief 'T P O 11/AP1/11/[VIC?]' largely very fine strike on 1d pink. Rated RRRRR: the only recorded example. [Acquired at another Melbourne auction for $750] Note: the 'skeleton'-pattern relief datestamps were notorious for the inscriptions being misalligned. Above the 'T' of 'VICTORIA' there is the hint of another letter, which could be 'U' for 'UP'.
TPO 14 DOWN: Duplex 'DOWN TRAIN/ MG14 /SE19/84/VICTORIA - TPO/14' very fine b/s on OHMS lettersheet from Melbourne to Piangil. Rated RRRRR: only five examples on cover recorded.
TPO 14 DOWN: 25mm Octagon 'DOWN TRAIN/ MG14 /JA18/94/VICTORIA' very fine strike on 1d Letter Card from Chewton to Castlemaine (b/s), masonic message within. Rated RRRR on cover.
Eastern Gold Fields Railway: 21mm 'TPO EASTERN GOLDFIELDS/SP16/[02]/WA' (no gang & year slugs) transit b/s on Victorian 1d Envelope uprated to 'PADDINGTON/WA' (24mm arrival b/s; PO 15.11.1897; closed 30.11.1911), a few blemishes.
Great Southern Railway: 26mm 'TRAVELLING POST OFFICE/NO28/96/GSR WA' very fine transit cds in blue unusually on the face of uprated Italian Postal Card to Perth, light discolouration.
