1871-78 Sidefaces 'TAS'-in-Bars Watermark 1d pink Perf 11½ marginal pair the right unit with Wedge Flaw SG 144d/144f, large-part current number '41' in chamfered box below left unit, hinge remainders, Cat £390+. This is an intermediate state of the 'Wedge Flaw' with the void area measuring 2½mm at its widest. 1871-78 Sidefaces 'TAS'-in-Bars Watermark 1d rose Perf 11½ with Wedge Flaw SG 144f, used with 'TASMANIA' bars cancel mostly clear of variety, Cat £65. This is an intermediate state of the 'Wedge Flaw' with the void area measuring 3mm at its widest. It seems that many examples were recognised and retained. 1892-99 Tablets 'TAS' Watermark 6d violet (aniline) & black SG 220 block of 4 from L/R corner of sheet with complete Plate Number '1' in lower margin & Jubilee Lines, very pronounced shade with the violet dramatically infused through the paper from the back of the stamp (and with a 'normal' for comparison), hinged in margin only, couple of tiny gum blemishes to top units, unmounted, Cat £64+ for normal shade (Gibbons does not list the aniline ink variety).
