Reverse with KIMBERLEY cds, BURGHERSDORP transit datestamp (June 24) and Venterstad arrival of the following day. See the article in the 'London Philatelist', March 1992 on page 101:58, this being cover #5 of the 13 listed in the Dr. Drysdall census, mailed just a week before the famous 'Canada' combination cover. A magnificent and extremely rare cover. Cert. RPSL (1974).rnProvenance: Christie's RL, London, 22-23 Jan 1990, lot 436.rnNote: Stellaland stamps were in use from Feb 29, 1884, after the annexation of Goshen & Stellaland as a result of the Warren Expedition which reached Vryburg on 7 February 1885, the two states were annexed into British Bechuanaland.
