image 1927 cover with 4-line Kwato Extension Association imprint at upper-left, to GB with Bicolours 1½d addressed in the hand of Rev Charles Abel. Rev Charles William Abel served in Papua 1900-30, establishing a mission on Kwato Island near Samarai. His practical methods were at odds with other local missionaries & in 1917 he persuaded the LMS directors to lease the Kwato Mission to him personally, from where he oversaw as many as 27 outstations.
