1939 censored large linen-reinforced air cover (blue), 23 x 15cm GB to NZ, to "Editor, Evening Post, Wellington, New Zealand", with red "MAIL URGENT", & sender's address "Miss A. E. Evans, 23 Fleet Street, London EC4" (all these details printed). "Mixed reigns" franking of 1934 10/- indigo GV Seahorses & just issued 5/- red GVI Arms, both quite heavily canc by London F.S. rubber cds 24 Oct 39 (GVI 10/- Arms not issued till 1 week later). Very late example of use of 10/- Seahorses by the press (complete covers are very scarce). With m/s "Forwarded to Censor's Dept. Oct. 24 for immediate despatch". Resealed by 3 "Opened by Censor" labels (code "PC.22"). Good cond. Fine item of GB postal history.
