An Impressive, In-Depth 1840-1948 Collection Nicely written up on quadrilled pages in two Exeter albums with an extensive display carefully identified and studied, regarding plates, shades, cancels, perforations and papers by the owner. We note Mulready 1p & 2p envelopes (6), strong penny blacks from Plates 1 to 11 (82 stamps mostly singles including Plate 7 unused and two used pairs, plus twelve covers); 1840 2p blue (5), including a very rare Blue Maltese cross cancel; Line-Engraved from 1841 Penny reds to 1870 half penny, well organized and extensive throughout including "Archer" trial rouletting & perfs on 1p red brown, myriad perfs, papers, plates, shades, etc. De La Rue surface-printed are unusually well represented with plates, cancels, papers and varieties from ½p to 5sh, KEVII to the £1, KGV with useful section of "Seahorses" from 1913 DLR to 1934 Waterlow, KGVI, etc. Condition varies, nevertheless an extensive representation for someone preferring a "head start" with a strong nucleus for continuation. Enormous catalogue value well into six-figures and great potential for better findings. (Image)
