Anzac Rifle Range (1): 'ANZAC RIFLE RANGE/14OC36/N.S.W.' cds two fine to very fine strikes on Anzac 2d Plate '2' block of 4 plus b/s, manuscript "Anzac R Range" on provisional blue & black registration label, minor aging marks & small adhesions on back. Open only in October each year from 1920 to 1938.
Burrandong: 'BURRANDONG/15DE37/N.S.W' largely fine strike on KGV 5d brown on piece with 'BURRENDONG' blue R label alongside. Burrendong PO 1.1.1862; renamed Burrandong 6.5.1903; closed 17.2.1938.
Cullinga Mine: 'CULLINGA MINE/20NO1907/NSW' arrival cds on postcard addressed to "Cullinga" with 1d Arms tied 'GLADESVILLE cds of same day, a few blemishes. RO 1.10.1900; PO 19.11.1906; closed 30.11.1929.
Huskisson (2): 'HUSKISSON/AU22/1904/NSW' cds alongside 1d pair tied BN '817' (rated RRR) on 'HMS CHALLENGER' envelope, minor blemishes. PO 22.3.1886. HMS Challenger was commissioned on 30.5.1904 and was sent to the Australia Station. At the time, Huskisson was the nearest PO to Jervis Bay (PO opened in 1912).
Vere: 'VERE/JY19/1907/N.S.W' very fine strike of Type 1(D)(i) cds [ERD; Hopson & Tobin record only a 1914 strike] alongside Arms 1d (faults) tied by completely indecipherable strike of the numeral '632' (rated RRRRR) on cover with 'WHITTINGHAM/JY19/[ ]/N.S.W' (PO 16.6.1879; closed 1948) transit and 'SINGLETON' arrival b/s, a few aging marks. Vere PO 1.6.1872; closed 31.12.1920.
Brisbane: second Brisbane duplex (stated to be the ERD & the only recorded example with code 'd') tying Chalons 6d apple-green to 1867 cover to Gloucestershire with embossed 'PEB' monogram on the flap, very fine 'CIRENCESTER/JU20/67' arrival b/s, minor blemishes.
Brisbane: Type 3 'BRISBANE/QUEENSLAND' cds with code '3' (stated to be the only recorded example) on 1867 cover front to NSW with 'CROWN LANDS OFFICE/("14.11.67")/BRISBANE' cachet at L/L and Chalons 6d yellow-green (surface fault) tied by 'QL'-in-Rays cancel, Sydney arrival cds of NO16/1867 plus boxed 'NOT KNOWN BY THE/LETTER CARRIERS' h/s in red & 'ADVERTISED/UNCLAIMED' h/s, a few blemishes.
Brisbane: Type 3 'BRISBANE/NO7/76/QUEENSLAND' with code '10' (the highest number recorded) on entire town letter to Brisbane Gas Co with Chalons 1d (oxidised) tied by Thick 'QL'-in-Bars cancel. [The letter, from merchants Webster & Co, complains about the cost of providing them with a gas pipe, and that details of how the estimated consumption has been arrived at have not been provided]
Brisbane: 'QUEENSLAND/HELP TO WIN THE WAR/BUY WAR SAVINGS CERTIFICATES/ELIGIBLES ENLIST' slogan cancel with 'BRISBANE/21AUG18/ 2 ' date-head complete & largely very fine strike on KGV 1d red on cover to serviceman in London, some aging marks & faults including back flap missing. The only example we have seen with 'QUEENSLAND'.
Comet: BN '278' (rated RRRR on Chalons) light but largely discernible strike on 1878 (Sep 22) Dodgson cover to London endorsed "Via Torres Straits Brindisi" with 2d single & strip of 3, largely very fine 'COMET' cds (RR) below, Rockhampton transit & London arrival b/s of NO29/78, British '[crown]/R' inspector's h/s, repaired opening tears clear of the stamps & postmarks. PO 5.9.1877.
Cunnamulla: 'CUNNAMULLA' light but obvious b/s on 1873 cover to "Lockyersleigh/Carrick NSW" with the letter written on the back of the envelope! & endorsed "via Roma", Chalons 3d tied by indistinct Rays cancel, transit b/s of Brisbane & Sydney. PO 1.3.1868. Rated RRRRR: only one other example recorded & the earliest d/s known from this office by 10 years.
Fortitude Valley: 'PAID/1NO05/FORTITUDE VLY' cds superb strike on unsealed cover with 'McWHIRTER & SON/CASH DRAPERS/...' imprint in green on the flap, most unusually for bulk mail with an arrival b/s, minor blemishes. Unrecorded by Hugh Campbell.
Muttaburra: BN '275' (rated RRRRR) two poor & two fine strikes on 1879 sextuple-rate linen-lined cover to NSW with rare franking of Chalons Perf 12 2d strips of 3 x2 - one stamp torn on opening - with 'MUTTABURRA' cds (with quatrefoils; ERD; rated RRRR) alongside, transit b/s of Rockhampton (superb) & Sydney & fine 'PENRITH/FE11/1879/=NSW=' arrival b/s. PO 25.1.1878. [Muttaburra is almost 1200km NW of Brisbane, NNE of Longreach. It was the discovery site of one of Australia's largest dinosaurs, the Muttaburrasaurus. Yes...seriously!]
Royal Train: 'ROYAL TRAIN/4DE34/AUSTRALIA' two superb strikes on plain cover; plus a lesser strike on piece. [With a copy of the itinerary: on 4.12.1934, the train travelled from Gatton to Brisbane]

Taroom: 'TAROOM' large-part cds at L/L (rated RRRR; LRD) on 1876 (July 29) cover to Dorsetshire endorsed "By First English Mail/Via Brindisi" with Chalons 2d & 6d tied by poor BN '152', Brisbane transit & very fine 'DORCHESTER/OC7/76' arrival b/s. [Hugh Campbell states the 8d rate was introduced 3.8.1876. This cover is dated five days earlier]
Totley: unframed 'TOTLEY/NO30/86/QUEENSLAND' fine to very fine strikes on Large Chalons 2/6d x2 & £1 block of 4. Rare: unrecorded by Bernie Manning. PO 6.7.1886; closed 30.11.1888. [Our assessment is that these are posthumous strikes of a genuine cds on fiscally cancelled stamps]
