India stamps Cancelled in British East Africa. 1894 Cover to Zanzibar franked on reverse by 2a + 4a pair cancelled by "LAMU" datestamps (May 30), a further strike alongside, with a Zanzibar arrival c.d.s. Flap removed with some loss to the surface paper, otherwise fine. The only recorded cover with Indian stamps cancelled in Lamu, presumably landed by sea (from Zanzibar or India) and treated as Paquebot mail.
