1963 Freedom from Hunger 8d sepia with NAME AND VALUE OMITTED, mint nh, very fine and rare with only 36 known (SG £1'200)
Note: The stamp was printed in one colour but two plates were used; one for the general design and background and the other for the value and country name. A pane of 60 was affected by the error and was purchased in Nassau at the time of issue for use on mail of the Royal Palm and Cottages Hotel at Coral Sands. The error was only spotted after a number of stamps had been used as postage. The discoverer kept the remainder of the pane hidden until the issue was withdrawn. Stanley Gibbons subsequently acquired what was left a block of 36 (the bottom six rows) and displayed it at London Stampex between 13 and 21 March 1964. (Image)
