image Australian States: Western Australia: 1898 De La Rue Archive page (158 x 240mm) bearing four imperforate proofs of the 2d. in orange, brown, yellow-orange and yellow repectively, two proofs affected by horizontal folds. This Appendix was submitted on April 4 1898 showing the top two stamps only, following the request by the colony for a change of colour for the 2d. to a bright orange, as much unlike the 5d. straw as possible. The other two were added on the April 6, because the secretary considered the original submission did not meet colonial wishes. The third stamp was selected by the Agent General on the April 7. Two proofs affected by horizontal folds. A unique piece, illustrated on page 9121 of “The De la Rue Collection”. Photo. (Image1)
