2d blue, RECONSTRUCTED BLOCK OF FOUR having been originally a block of four but separated into two horizontal pairs and franked two different covers, positions 7-8/11-12, both with large to very large uneven margins and showing dramatic DOUBLE IMPRESSIONS, some usual small faults, brilliantly reconstructed and an extremely rare exhibition showpiece

2d blue, horizontal right sheet marginal pair, positions 7-8, huge uneven margins, both cancelled by crisp black oval bars cancels, and tied by French boxed 'APRES LE DEPART', on 1859 folded letter sheet from Port Louis via Suez to Paris (France), with "8" decimes hs and Suez red cds alongside, the stamps have been lifted, cover restored and then reaffixed, a superb early impression pair on cover, possibly the finest pair ever seen
